Landmark ClimateFlex keeps the Landmark look but uses SBS polymer-modified asphalt, the rubberized blend that lets a shingle flex under a hail strike instead of cracking. That is what earns the UL 2218 Class 4 rating, and the same flexibility keeps the shingle pliable in cold weather. The wind warranty starts at 110 mph and goes up to 160 mph when the roof uses CertainTeed starter on the eaves and rakes and CertainTeed hip and ridge, which is how we build a CertainTeed roof anyway.

What is NailTrak?
NailTrak is the extra-wide nailing area on Landmark, Landmark Pro, and Landmark ClimateFlex, marked by three separate lines on the face of each shingle. It gives the installer a wide, clearly defined target, so every nail lands where CertainTeed's specs call for it, with a smaller marked area for very steep slopes. Most wind damage starts with a nail in the wrong place, which is why a good nailing zone matters as much as the wind rating on the wrapper.
How long do CertainTeed shingles last in Nebraska?
