The hail shingle
Landmark IR is built for impact.
Landmark IR takes the Landmark profile and reinforces it for hail. The fiberglass mat is stronger, and an added layer of reinforcement on the underside helps the shingle take a hit without cracking through. That construction is what earns the UL 2218 Class 4 rating. Wind resistance is rated at 110 mph as installed, and it moves to 130 mph when the roof uses CertainTeed starter and hip and ridge materials, which is how we build a CertainTeed roof anyway.

The color step
Landmark Pro adds weight and MaxDef color.
Landmark Pro is a heavier build of the standard Landmark, with better granule adhesion and MaxDef color technology that gives the roof deeper tone and more contrast from the street. The NailTrak marking keeps nail placement consistent across the whole roof, and the MaxDef granule blend holds its color on south and west slopes, where summer sun works hardest on a roof.

Presidential Shake gives a home the texture of wood shake in an asphalt shingle, with a thick dimensional profile and colors designed for traditional architecture. It is a demanding install, because the varied tab dimensions need careful nailing and alignment, and the profile catches more wind on exposed ridges and hips. Impact rating varies by the specific Presidential product, so we confirm whether the style you want is Class 3 or Class 4 as part of your detailed estimate.

What is NailTrak?
NailTrak is the marked, reinforced nailing area on Landmark Pro and other CertainTeed shingles. It gives the installer a wide, clearly defined target, so every nail lands where the engineering assumes it will, and the reinforcement raises pull-through resistance when wind gets under the shingle. Most wind damage starts with a nail in the wrong place, which is why a good nailing zone matters as much as the wind rating on the wrapper.
How long do CertainTeed shingles last in Nebraska?
